Our 28 mile loop was not available this Saturday because of all the rain. Luckily we went straight out to Route 50 at the end to give us 28.72 miles. We didn't get rain but the wet leaves produced a great deal of road grim. Sunday looks like great weather for riding.
Saturday (4/18) we had around 24 riders at the Tour de Tuckahoe. We had 2 flat tires. Most got in 42+ miles or the standard 28. Weather reached 78 during the ride.
Longtime Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas died Monday (4/13/2009) after being found passed out in the broadcast booth before a game with the Washington Nationals. Harry was 73 and was the voice of the Phillies since 1971.
On Easter Sunday (4/12) Captain Richard Phillips was rescued after being held captive since last Wednesday. After a 5 day standoff, Navy SEAL snipers on a destroyer shot and killed three pirates and plucked an unharmed Phillips to safety.
